Day 18 - Nathan

I'll keep this one short, because I'm working from home today. When I'm alone at home, I basically sit around listening to the music that annoys Kelly, while cleaning like an automaton. Time passes without consequence. I'm like a couchbound cowboy, lulled by Sacajawean siren songs, and dulled down by cannabis smoke signals. That imagery makes no sense at all, but it sounds dreamy, and that's how these lazy days always are.

Today, I've made an apple and orange smoothie and 16 raw sushi rolls. I've enjoyed a good book, Sometimes a Great Notion, by Ken Kesey. I've watched the cilantro grow. I've also checked in on our radish sprouts. I plan on eventually using them to put some spice in my sushi.

The day, in pictures:

  1. I have to say, your adventure is really compelling. This is unfair, I am certain, but I've alwasy thought of raw foodists as bizarro and obsessive. But I like your thoughful, totally reasonable approach to this experiment. Plus I love some of your ideas, like the green smoothies.

  2. Not to insult the raw food world, but I've had the same impression. I don't imagine the life source flowing into me when I eat a carrot, I'm not in touch with mother nature, and I like motorcycles. This is solely about being healthy for me, and I can't remember being in better shape, physically. Good times.

  3. What a delightful blog you have. Might I recommend a raw onion, tomato, lettuce, and taco-seasoning smoothie to replace a plate of nachos? Just kidding :) Fun to see you guys last night! I'm inspired - maybe some day I'll go raw for awhile.
